UC Irvine Sits In 24th Place Following Second Round Of NCAA Championships

Owings Mills, MD -- UC Irvine sits in 24th place after the second round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships being played at Caves Valley Golf Course.

 

The Anteaters shot a 316 Wednesday for a 36-hole total of 636 (320-316). The team will tee off beginning at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and will be playing with Ohio State and TCU.

 

UCLA sophomore Maria Jose Uribe fired a 6-under par 66 Wednesday

and helped lead UCLA to the tournament lead at 589, seven strokes ahead of USC. Uribe leads individually with a 3-under par 141.


 

 

 

Senior Jane Chin shot her second consecutive 75 and is tied for 20th with a two round total of 150 (75-75). Junior Patty Chawalitmetha is 88th with a score of 158 (78-80), while Lalita Patipaksiri is 107th after totaling a 162 (89-82). Freshman Joy Trotter shot a 79 on the second round and is 118th with a 166 (87-79). Sophomore Hillary Packard is 122nd at 169 (87-82).

 

The tournament continues with 18 holes Thursday and Friday.
