Women's Golf:
Jane Chin Finishes Second; Anteaters Take Fourth At Ron Moore Intercollegiate

Highlands Ranch, Colo. - The UC Irvine women's golf team finished fourth at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate behind senior Jane Chin's second place performance.
The Anteaters shot a 54-hole total of 894 (304-292-298) at the Highlands Ranch Golf Course to place fourth in the first tournament of the 2008-09 season. Host Denver won the tournament with an 11-under 853 (287-286-280). TCU was second (880) followed by San Jose State in third (888).
Denver's Stephanie Sherlock earned medalist honors with a 10-under par 206 (67-71-68), besting UCI's Jane Chin by two strokes. Chin's second place score of 208 (69-67-72) is the best 54-total in UCI women's golf history. Chin led the tournament in Par 3 scoring (2.50, -6) and birdies with 14.
In her first collegiate tournament, freshman Joy Trotter shot an even par 72 on the final round to finish 15th with a score of 223 (77-74-72). Trotter led the tournament field in Par 5 scoring (4.42, -7). Junior Henna Cho was 29th with a score of 231 (80-75-76), while Patty Chawalitmetha carded a three-round total of 234 (80-76-78) to place 39th. Freshman Lalita Patipaksiri was 45th with a total of 235 (78-79-78).
The Anteaters return to action at the Coast BMW Intercollegiate October 6-7 at the Monarch Dunes Golf Course in San Luis Obispo.
