Women's Golf:
Chin and Henderson Win First Round Of Match Play at U.S. Amateur

Eugene, Oregon -- UC Irvine senior Jane Chin and 2008 graduate Selaneé Henderson each won their first round of match play Wednesday at the 108th U.S. Women's Amateur at the Eugene Country Club. Chin defeated Tiffany Joh of San Diego, 1 up. Chin had a par 4 on the 18th hole, while Joh, who will be a senior at UCLA next year, recorded a bogey 5 to give Chin the victory. Joh, a two-time All-American for the Bruins, lost in a sudden death playoff for the individual title at the 2008 NCAA Championships. Henderson defeated USC incoming freshman Jennifer Song from Korea, 2 and 1. The duo advance to the round of 32 Thursday. Chin will tee off at 8:20 a.m. against Stephanie Kono of Honolulu, Hawaii, while Henderson will battle Ellen Mueller of Bartlesville, Okla. at 9:00 a.m. Live scoring available at the USGA website.
