Women's Golf:
U.S. Women's Golf Team Sits In Eighth At World University Games
Aug. 14, 2007 Bangkok, Thailand -- The U.S. women's golf team sits in eighth place with a team total of 159 after the first round of the World University Games at the Water Mill Golf & Gardens in Bagkok, Thailand. UC Irvine's Selaneé Henderson posted an 83 and is tied with teammate Jennifer Tangtophaiboontana for 28th place. American Mary Jacobs leads the team with a first-round 76 which is tied for seventh overall. The U.S. men are in third place with a team total of 216 - five shots off leader Japan. Ryan Brehm shot a four-round 68 in the first round to lead the men's field. The U.S. is set to tee off starting at 7:10 a.m. tomorrow. The women will be paired with Canada, Russia and Thailand, while the men will join Great Britain, Mexico and Singapore on the course.
