BANGKOK, Thailand - The U.S. women's golf team claimed the bronze medal at the 2007 Summer World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

The trio of Selanee Henderson, Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana, Mary Jacobs combined for a four-round total of 603 at the Water Mill Golf & Gardens course.

Only two shots separated the top three women's teams as Mexico claimed gold with a score of 601, followed by Ireland at 602.

UC Irvine's Henderson ended the tournament in 45th place with a score of 345. Tangtiphaiboontana shot a 71 in the final round, tied for the low on the day, and she finished in fourth place overall with a four-round total of 299 (+11). She was two shots shy of a medal, while Ireland's Danielle McVeigh took gold with a four-over 292. Jacobs finished tied for seventh in the women's field with a four-daytotal of 304.

The U.S. men finished in sixth place overall with a score of 878. Host Thailand captured the men's team title with a total score of 863, followed by Mexico (864) and Japan (866).
