ANTEATERS AT COAST BMW INTERCOLLEGIATE NEXT: The UC Irvine women's golf team will participate in the Coast BMW Intercollegiate October 6-7 at the Monarch Dunes Golf Course next.

Participating teams include Cal State Northridge, Santa Clara, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal Baptist and host Cal Poly.

ANTEATERS FINISH FOURTH AT RON MOORE: The Anteaters opened the 2008-09 season with a fourth place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.  The Anteaters shot a 54-hole total of 894 (304-292-298) at the Highlands Ranch Golf Course. Host Denver won the tournament with an 11-under 853 (287-286-280). 

 


 

 

Senior Jane Chin finished second with a score of 208 (67-69-72), two strokes behind medalist Stephanie Sherlock of Denver. Chin led the tournament in Par 3 scoring (2.50, -6) and birdies with 14.

 

In her first collegiate tournament, freshman Joy Trotter shot an even par 72 on the final round to finish 15th with a score of 223 (77-74-72). Trotter led the tournament field in Par 5 scoring (4.42, -7).

 

Junior Henna Cho was 29th with a score of 231 (80-75-76), while Patty Chawalitmetha carded a three-round total of 234 (80-76-78) to place 39th.  Freshman Lalita Patipaksiri was 45th with a total of 235 (78-79-78).

CHIN ENTERS RECORD BOOKS:  Senior Jane Chin entered the UCI record books for best 36-hole total (136) and 54-hole total (208). Her 67 on the fist round is one shy of the school record set by Patty Chawlitmetha at 2007 at the Big West Championship.
