Las Cruces, NM -- Senior Jane Chin tops the leaderboard as the UC Irvine women’s golf team sets the pace at the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Invitational at the NMSU Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M.

UC Irvine fired a 5-over-par 293 on the first day to lead the field, four strokes ahead of second place Baylor (297). Oklahoma and host New Mexico State are tied for third (299) and Oral Roberts is fifth (303).

Chin was the only player to shoot under par on the first day and leads the field with a two-under 70. 

Freshman Joy Trotter is in fifth place after carding a 73, while junior Patty Chawalitmetha and freshman Lalita Patipaksiri are tied for 19th with an 18-hole total of 75.  Sophomore Hillary Packard is 42nd with a score of 78.

The tournament continues with 18 holes Tuesday and 18 holes Wednesday.
