Anteaters Trail By One Shot Heading Into Final Round of New Mexico State Tournament

Las Cruces, N.M. – UC Irvine dropped into second place after the second round of the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State Golf Course, but are just one shot behind heading into the final day.

 

UC Irvine improved in the second round with a team score of 209, but fell to second place with a score of 584 (294-290), one shot behind Idaho, who fired a tournament best 287 Monday and owns a 54-hole total of 583 (296-287). San Diego State and Fresno State are tied for third (595) and Baylor is fifth (597).

 

Sophomore Joy Trotter is tied for third with a two-day total of 143 (69-74), while Hillary Packard is fifth (144) after shooting a one-under par 71 Tuesday. Senior Henna Cho is tied for 16th after firing an even par 72 and recording a 54-hole score of 148 (76-72). Sophomore Lalita Patipaksiri is 21st with a score of 149 (76-73) and senior Mariko Makabe is 36th with a total of 152 (77-75).


 

 

 

The tournament concludes with 18 holes Wednesday.
