HAWAII BOUND: The UC Irvine women's golf team will travel to Hawaii to compete in the Kent Youel Invitational Oct. 30-31 at the Kapolei Golf Course in Oahu.

The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Tuesday and 18 holes on Wednesday.

The field includes Boise State, Cal, UCLA, Cal State Northridge, Central Arkansas, Colorado, Fresno State, Iowa, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Portland State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, USC, Washington State and host Hawaii. UCI finished in a tie for third in last year's event with Selaneé Henderson leading the squad with a seventh place finish, recording a score of 226 (75-74-77).

ANTEATERS CAPTURE LADY AZTEC CLASSIC: CHAWALITMETHA EARNS MEDALIST HONORS: The UC Irvine women's golf team won the 19-team Lady Aztec Fall Classic at the Salt Creek Golf Course with three players in the top 10 including sophomore Patty Chawalitmetha who earned medalist honors.

Chawalitmetha was the only player under par for the tournament, shooting a 140 (70-72) to win her first collegiate title, three shots ahead of Cal State Northridge's Krystina Gillenwater. Chawailitmetha becomes the fourth UCI women's player to earn medalist honors joining Selaneé Henderson, Stella Lee and Walailak Satarak.

As a team, the Anteaters captured the title with a 36-hole total of 593 (297-296). UCI topped second place East Tennessee State and Hawaii (603) by 10 shots. It is the first tournament title this season and the 12th win in program history.

UCI senior Kim Lorenzana tied for third after carding a 148 (72-76), her best career finish. Freshman Hillary Packard had a team-best 71 on the final round to move from 50th to a seventh place tie with a two-day total of 150 (79-71), a top 10 performance in her first collegiate event. Freshman Sarah Fox was 23rd after shooting a 153 (76-77) and senior Selaneé Henderson was 96th with a score of 170 (89-81).
