Jane Chin Has Record Day To Lead Kent Youel Invitational

Honolulu, Hawaii – Senior Jane Chin shot a school record 66 and leads the field after the first day of the Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course.
Chin leads individually with a 10-under 134 after carding rounds of 68 and a career best 66. Her second round of 66 ties Patty Chawalitmetha for the lowest round in program history and her 36-hole total of 134 betters her own school record of 136 set earlier this season. She is three shots ahead of San Francisco’s Christina Stockton entering the final round.
As a team, UCI sits in a tie for fourth place with Oregon after recording a two-round total of 588 (296-292). San Francisco leads the 15-team field after firing rounds of 285 and 286 for a five-under par total and 11 stroke lead over second place New Mexico.
Freshman Joy Trotter is 21st with a score of 148 (72-76), while junior Patty Chawalitmetha (78-75) and Lalita Patipaksiri (78-75) are tied for 38th after recording a 36-hole total of 153. Sophomore Hillary Packard is 65th with a score of 158 (82-76).
UCI will be wearing pink uniforms for tomorrow’s final round on honor of Breast Cancer month.
