Wendi Whitman enters her second season at UC Irvine in 2011. Prior to
joining the 'Eaters she spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Long
Beach State.

In her time at LBSU, she helped guide the team to three Big West
Conference regular season titles and an NCAA Tournament appearance in
2008. Whitman has played a huge part in the program's recent success
including directing the recruiting efforts and working with the
goalkeepers and defenders. In 2008, Whitman guided Liz Ramos to LBSU's
first-ever Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year award.

In addition to her coaching duties at UC Irvine, Whitman
has served as a Regional ODP Staff coach and as a Cal South
ODP coach.  She has worked with the top female players in the
regional pool and helped to coach age group teams for
Cal South where she won regional and National ODP
championships with several teams.  Whitman also coaches
two ECNL teams (Girls U15 and Girls U17) for the Irvine Strikers.
The Strikers compete in the top youth league in the country,
the Elite Clubs National League.

Whitman was a four-year letter winner at Stanford (1996-00), where the
Cardinal advanced to three NCAA tournaments and won two Pacific-10
championships. Whitman was twice named to the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America All-Academic team (1998-99).

Whitman earned her bachelor's degree in international relations (2000)
and master's in sociology (2001) from Stanford. She went on to earn her
teaching credential from Cal State Northridge in 2003 and taught
elementary school for two years. Whitman holds a USSF "B" license and
several NSCAA goalkeeping coaching diplomas, as well.
