SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (1-2) lost 1-0 in double overtime to No. 13 San Diego Sunday night at Torero Stadium.

The Toreros were awarded a penalty kick in the eighth minute of the second overtime period. Amy Epsten took the kick for USD and converted to win the match for the Toreros.

Senior keeper Erin Henry (Irvine/Mater Dei HS) had two saves in the match for UCI. Keeper Courtney Parsons had three saves for USD.

UCI was called for 18 fouls in the match; including the one setting up the penalty kick. The Toreros were whistled for six fouls in the match.

The Anteaters return to action Friday, September 5 as they travel to Los Angeles to face Loyola Marymount at 1:30 p.m. at Sullivan Field.
