LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (1-3) lost 3-1 at Loyola Marymount Friday afternoon in non-conference play at Sullivan Field.

The Lions got on the board early as Lauren Shanklin knocked in a rebound of a shot by Lily Sorentino that went off the post in the seventh minute. Tiffany Harrison headed in a corner kick by Gabrielle Parisella in the 34th minute to put LMU up 2-0. Julie Gallaudet took a cross from Sorentino in the 53rd minute and knocked it in to put the Lions up 3-0. Sophomore Gilly Acedo (Pasadena HS) put UCI on the board with four seconds remaining as she scored from 16 yards out to make the final score 3-1.

Senior keeper Erin Henry (Irvine/Mater Dei HS) had three saves to move into eighth all-time on UCI’s save list with 139 in her career. Keeper Alyssa Clark had three saves for the Lions.

The Anteaters will return to Los Angeles Sunday as they take on No. 1 UCLA at 1:00 p.m. at Drake Stadium.
