IRVINE, Calif.  - The UC Irvine women's soccer team (5-5-0) defeated San Francisco 2-0 Friday nigh in non-conference play at Anteater Stadium.

Sophomore Tanya Taylor (Buena Park/Sunny Hills HS) put in a rebound off a shot from junior Kate Berrini (Foster City/Notre Dame HS) in the 39th minute. Berrini crossed the ball from the left corner into the box where it was headed in by a Don defender to put the ‘Eaters up 2-0 in the 66th minute.

 

Freshman keeper Erica Quevedo (Northridge/North Hills Prep) had 4 saves as she earned a shutout in her first career start. Keeper Kelly Pohle had nine save for the Dons in 83 minutes. Keeper Sarah Garland had one save in seven minutes for USF.

 

The ‘Eaters conclude their non-conference schedule as they host Pepperdine Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Anteater Stadium.
