LONG BEACH, Calif. – The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (7-6-1, 1-1-1) and Long Beach State played to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon in Big West Conference play at George Allen Field.

Freshman keeper Erica Quevedo (Northridge/North Hills Prep) had 14 saves in the match for the ‘Eaters as she earned her third shutout of the season. Keeper Liz Ramos had three saves for Long Beach State.

“I’m very proud of the effort the team played with today,” said UCI head coach Scott Juniper after the match. “We had several players that were unable to practice this week due to illness and to have them come out here today and play the way they did is very gratifying. Erica Quevedo played great in the net coming up with big plays all game long. I thought our back four and midfield played great especially Nikki Forrest, who has shown maturity and continues to improve.”

The Anteaters return to action Friday as they host Cal State Fullerton at 7:00 p.m. in Big West play at Anteater Stadium.
