IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (12-6-2, 4-3-1) defeated Long Beach State 3-0 Thursday night in Big West play at Anteater Stadium.

Freshman Devon Delarosa (San Diego/Rancho Bernardo HS) passed the ball up to junior Alyssa Humphrey (Santa Margarita HS) who took a chance from 30 yards out on the left side and she put UCI up 1-0 in the 21st minute as the ball went into the upper right corner of the net. Senior Kate Berrini (Foster City/Notre Dame HS) collected a ball from the defense and launched it from 40 yards out over the reach of the keeper and under the cross bar to put UCI up 2-0 in the 59^th minute. Sophomore Lexi Kopf (Sonora HS) was fouled just inside the box giving UCI a penalty kick. Sophomore Judy Christopher took the kick and converted for a 3-0 Anteater lead in the 77^th minute.

The 'Eaters close out the regular season Sunday as they host Gonzaga at 1:00 p.m. in non-conference play at Anteater Stadium.
