Danielle de Seriere Honored by the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame

IRVINE, Calif. - Freshman goalkeeper Danielle de Seriere was honored by the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame on Monday, February 25th. de Seriere, Arizona State basketball freshman James Harden and Philadelphia Phillies baseball star Travis d'Arnaud were honored for their achievements on the field and in the classroom. Danielle played 19 games for UCI during the 2007 season conceding only 12 goals. Her saves percentage of 0.88 ranked No. 7 in the nation and her goals against average of 0.63 was 21st. She is currently sixth in all-time shutouts at UCI, tied the single season shut-out record and was named All-Big West Conference honorable mention. "We are very proud of Danielle. She deserves the recognition she is getting because she is a wonderful young athlete with a smart head on her shoulders," said Anteater head coach Scott Juniper. "For a freshman goalkeeper to make that kind of impact in the first year is rare and I am sure we will see a lot more from her in the years to come."
