ANTEATERS OPEN WITH EXHIBITION WITH CSU SAN BERNARDINO: The UC Irvine women's soccer team will open the season Monday, August 18th with an exhibition match against Cal State San Bernardino at 7:00 p.m. at Anteater Stadium.

EXHIBITION PREVIEW: The Division II Coyotes finished with a 8-8-4 record in 2007. Three players earned All-CCAA honors for CSUSB in 2007. Sophomore forward Katie Liby, senior keeper Leslie Rhodes and junior defender Ashley Salas.

A LOOK AHEAD: The Anteaters return 15 letterwinners from the 2007 season that saw UCI return to the Big West Tournament. The `Eaters return seven starters and three of their top five scorers along with starting keeper sophomore Danielle de Seriere (Cerritos/Mayfair HS). UCI will play a West Coast-heavy non-conference schedule with five matches against West Coast Conference opponents as well as matches against UCLA, Northern Arizona, Weber State, Southern Utah and UNLV. The Big West Conference schedule will feature four home and four away matches for UCI with the Big West Tournament starting November 7th.

2007 REVIEW: Senior Kathleen Lemieux (Redlands East Valley HS), Danielle de Seriere, sophomore Tanya Taylor (Sunny Hills HS) and sophomore Nikki Forrest (Upland HS) were named All-Big West honorable mention. Tanya Taylor, junior Kate Berrini (Foster City, Calif./Notre Dame HS) tied for second on the team in scoring with five goals and 11 points each on the year. Sophomore Caty Cope (Northwood HS)had 10 assists on the year. Sophomore keeper Danielle de Seriere had 88 saves and a goals against average of 0.64 and nine shutouts.  

UCI RECORD BOOK: Sophomore keeper Danielle de Seriere is tied for sixth all-time in shutouts with nine. Senior keeper Erin Henry (Irvine/Mater Dei HS) is 10th all-time with 119 career saves. Henry is tied for 12th all-time with two shutouts. Junior Megan Ortiz (Corona HS) is currently 30th all-time in goals with six and is 40th all-time with 15 points in her career.

HEAD COACH Scott Juniper: The Anteaters are led by head coach Scott Juniper who is in his second season leading the Anteaters. Juniper led the `Eaters to a record of 11-7-2 in 2007 and a third place finish in the Big West Conference.
