ANTEATERS HOST UC IRVINE INVITATIONAL: The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (3-4) will host the UC Irvine Invitational Friday and Sunday at Anteater Stadium. The ‘Eaters will face Weber State Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the second game of the doubleheader with Cal State Bakersfield facing Saint Mary’s at 5:00 p.m. in the opener. UCI then faces Saint Mary’s at 2:00 p.m. Sunday following Bakersfield and Weber State who play at 12:00 p.m. at Anteater Stadium.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: The Wildcats are 2-3-1 after defeating UTEP Sunday. Whitney Smith is the leading scorer for Weber State. Rebecca Ritchie has two shutouts on the year.

The Gaels are 4-3 entering the week. Stephanie Rocco leads SMC with six points. Keeper Tara Larson has a pair of shutouts on the year.

The Roadrunners are 3-5 on the year. Kassi Massey leads CSUB with five points this season. Keeper Marina Constantinou has a 2.18 goals against average.

WEEK IN REVIEW: The Anteaters went 2-0 on the week with a pair of shutouts. UCI defeated Detroit 1-0 and Southern Utah 2-0. Sophomores Alyssa Humphrey, Milana Shabestari (Manhattan Beach/Mira Costa HS) and Tanya Taylor (Buena Park/Sunny Hills HS) each scored for UCI. Sophomore keeper Danielle de Seriere earned the shutout against Detroit and was one of three keepers to play against SUU.

ANTEATER LEADERS: Amanda Phillips leads the team with three points. Alyssa Humprhey, Milana Shabestari, Tanya Taylor and Gilly Acedo are tied for second with two points each. Senior keeper Erin Henry (Irvine/Mater Dei HS) has 16 saves and one shutout to lead UCI in the net. Danielle de Seriere has nine saves, a 1.33 goals against average and one shutout on the year.

UCI RECORD BOOK: Sophomore keeper Danielle de Seriere is sixth all-time in shutouts with 10. Senior keeper Erin Henry is eighth all-time with 139 career saves. Henry is tied for 11^th all-time with three shutouts. Junior Megan Ortiz (Corona HS) is currently 30^th all-time in goals with six and is 40^th all-time with 15 points in her career.

HEAD COACH Scott Juniper: The Anteaters are led by head coach Scott Juniper who is in his second season leading the Anteaters. Juniper led the ‘Eaters to a record of 11-7-2 in 2007 and a third place finish in the Big West Conference.
