Women's Soccer:
Anteaters Host San Francisco, Pepperdine

ANTEATERS HOST SAN FRANCISCO, PEPPERDINE: The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (4-5) will host San Francisco Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the second match of a doubleheader with the UCI men’s team. The team will then host Pepperdine Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Anteater Stadium.
The Waves are 3-4-2 entering the week and host Idaho State before arriving in Irvine. Amanda Rupp leads Pepperdine with 11 points. Keeper Kayla Stolte has a 1.18 goals against average and two shutouts.
WEEK IN REVIEW: The Anteaters went 1-1 at the UC Irvine Invitational. UCI defeated Weber State 3-2 and lost in overtime to Saint Mary’s 2-1. Junior Kate Berrini (Foster City/Notre Dame HS) had four goals on the week including three in 14 minutes against Weber State. Sophomore keeper Danielle de Seriere (Cerritos/Mayfair HS) had 10 saves on the week. Berrini’s hat trick was the first for UCI since 1996. ANTEATER LEADERS: Kate Berrini leads the team with eight points on four goals. Sophomore Tanya Taylor is second with four points. Amanda Phillips and Alyssa Humphrey are tied for third with three points. Senior keeper Erin Henry (Irvine/Mater Dei HS) has 16 saves and one shutout. Danielle de Seriere has 20 saves, a 1.60 goals against average and one shutout on the year.
