CoCo Goodson Named Soccer America MVP Second Team

IRVINE, Calif. --- Junior CoCo Goodson (Ramona/Texas) was honored on the MVPs second team by Soccer America. The junior transfer is the first UCI women's soccer player to earn the award.

Goodson, an NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division I All-America first team choice, helped UCI to its first NCAA postseason appearance in the program's 27 year history. She led the Big West with five game-winning goals and finished second in the conference with 18 points, scoring nine goals in her first year as an Anteater.

The Anteaters advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 and set a school record in victories after finishing the year 19-3-2. Goodson, the Big West Defender of the Year, also helped the team tie a Big West single-season record of 11 shutouts.
