The Anteaters dropped Hawai'i for its 15th straight regular season Big West win.
UC Irvine went a perfect 9-0 over its homestand that stretched from late February throughout the entirety of March.
Franziska Goettsching has 25 wins at No. 3 singles, one away from all-time leader Clare Fermin. She is also fourth all-time at No. 4 with 16. Her 42 career singles wins places her 23rd in the all-time rankings alongside Rebecca Kwan and Ali Borowicz.
In doubles, Goettsching has 27 wins as the No. 1 placing her fourth all-time. She also has 48 career doubles wins good for a tie at ninth all-time with Anna Bentzer and Courtney Byron.
Sarah Stadfelt's 22 wins at the No. 6 position places her at third all-time in program history.
Marivick Mamiit has three No. 2 singles wins this season for 14 in her career placing her sixth all-time.
The 'Eaters failed to win a match after losing the opening set in their first 32 attempts. Since then, they are 5-4.
The 'Eaters' schedule consists of eight schools ranked in the ITA preseason rankings. UCI is currently 2-4 with wins over No. 48 SDSU and No. 61 USD.
UC Irvine will face seven schools that reached the 2013 NCAA Tournament including Final Four participant UCLA.
Amongst UCI's opponents are 16 ranked singles players; 14 in the top-100, eight in the top-50, and two in the top-10.
The 'Eaters play 12 of their 21 matches at home including a stretch of nine consecutive matches that span from February through the entirety of March.
UC Irvine women's tennis was very prevalent in the NCAA postseason earning spots in the team and individual brackets. The team notched its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory with a hard-fought, 4-2 victory over San Jose State. The 'Eaters followed with a sweep at the hands of USC to end its postseason run.
UCI took home a Big West regular season title in 2013 going 9-0 in Big West matches, 36-6 in singles sets, and 24-0 in doubles sets.
UCI's NCAA Tournament win was Head Coach Mike Edles' 250th as an Anteater.
The 'Eaters as a club won all 14 home matches and ran a 20-match win streak in 2013, both program records.
UC Irvine finished 2013 ranked 32nd in the nation, besting its No. 35 ranking from 2007. UCI is currently ranked 38th.
The 'Eaters were ranked 23rd earlier in the season, its highest ranking in Division I and first time in the top 30 since 2007.
UCI heads out on the road for the first time in six weeks heading up to Northern California for a pair.
Sacramento State leads the charge on Sat. April 5 at 1:00 p.m. The Hornets are 9-10 and a perfect 7-0 in the Big Sky conference.
Sac State has six losses against ranked opponents and has dropped its three Big West matches so far in three road matches at UC Davis, UCSB, and Long Beach State.
Three Hornets have shared the No. 1 singles slot with Jennifer Nguyen's four wins in 12 matches leading the way. Daria Savchenko has competed in four slots and is a perfect 2-0 as the No. 1.
Elsewhere, Olivia Boija at 13-3 and Sophie Lohscheidt at 11-5 have enjoyed good seasons and the two together are 11-6 in doubles and 9-4 as the No. 1 doubles pair.
UCI is back at it Sunday in Big West action with UC Davis. The Aggies come in at 10-6 and 2-2 in the conference defeating Cal Poly and UCR, and they will host CSUF on Fri. Apr. 4 before hosting the Anteaters.
Megan Heneghan has enjoyed a 10-4 singles season as the No. 1. Melissa Kobayakawa is also 10-4 between slot Nos. 2-4.
Doubles overall are 28-17 including Heneghan and Kobayakawa a combined 12-3.
Ali Facey impressed in fall play going 9-2 including winning the consolation bracket of the ITA West Regionals. She also went a combined 6-4 in doubles play.
Sarah Gong posted a 5-2 mark in singles and reached the ITA West Regionals consolation semifinal and won a pair of matches in the Hawaii Fall Tournament. In doubles, she and Marivick Mamiit reached the quarterfinals of the ITA West Regional.
