IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 47 UC Irvine women's tennis team (6-6, 2-1) lost 6-1 at No. 40 Long Beach State Saturday in Big West Conference play at El Dorado Tennis Courts.

The 49ers won all three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. Stephanie Bengson and Hannah Grady defeated senior Becky Bernhard and junior Clare Fermin 8-1 in the No. 1 match.

In singles, junior Heidi Kaloi defeated Lisa Sutton 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 6 match for UCI's lone win of the match. No. 72 Hannah Grady beat Becky Bernhard 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 1 match. Stephanie Bengson defeated senior Inna Agababian 6-3, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. Deborah Armstrong beat junior Clare Fermin 6-4, 6-7, 11-9 in the No. 3 slot. Stephanie Jeanes beat senior Jessica Broadfoot 6-2, 7-6 in the No. 4 match. Jessica Weeks beat freshman Brooke Bartlett 6-4, 6-7, 10-6 in the No. 5 slot.

The Anteaters return to action Monday as they host Penn at 1:30 p.m. at Anteater Tennis Stadium.
