Three-time Los Padres League Most Valuable Player...three-time team MVP...captained the 2009 squad...named the Northern Santa Barbara County Round Table Athlete of the Week...voted to the All-CIF Division III second-team as a junior and senior...posted 309 kills and 88 aces as a senior...also had 24 solo blocks and averaged 5.26 points per game...holds the school's single-match record in attack percentage with a .894 clip against Arroyo Grande in 2008...2007 All-CIF first-team selection...recognized on the PrepVolleyball.com Top 79 sophomore list...received the Coaches Award as a freshman...earned all-league second-team honors in 2006...also lettered in track...was the varsity throwing captain in 2010...competed in the discus, high jump and long jump...received the Coaches Award in 2007 and 2008...set a record in the discus in the La Reina Invitational as a junior...was the league's discus champion as a junior...finished second in the discus at CIF in 2008 and 2009.

CLUB EXPERIENCE

Played with the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club...highest finish of second place at the Junior Olympics 18s National in 2009...helped the team to the MLK Speakeasy Tournament titles in 2009 and 2010...captained the 18 Smack Team...also led the team to a Southern California Volleyball Association Regional Tournament championship in 2010...competed on several U.S. High Performance A2 teams...won a gold medal with the Southern California High Performance Red Select Team in 2007.

California Scholarship Federation member...member of the National Honor Society...great-grandparents, Floyd and Margaret Finley Blower, were from the original Orange County pioneer families...grandmother, Linda Dempsay, worked at UC Irvine from 1965-83 and was the first female Athletic Director at the Division I level...served as UCI's Athletic Director from 1977-83...Dempsay is a member of the Irvine Athletics Hall of Fame...member of the Future Farmers of America...received the Greenhand Award in 2006-07...also received the Specialty Crop Production Award...conducts community service at the Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Association...is a teacher's assistant at Los Olivos School...tutors algebra...has had a job in sheep management at the Santa Ynez High School Farm...was the sophomore representative of the Hugh O'Brian Leadership seminar...majoring in social science...has a younger brother, Kristian.
