Lauren Kellerman Named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American
Dec. 17, 2008 IRVINE, Calif. --- Outside hitter Lauren Kellerman (Escondido/HS) has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Honorable Mention All-American. Kellerman becomes just the third Anteater to earn All-America honors. Kellerman, a four-time All-Big West selection, finished second on the team with 349 kills while recording 3.32 kills per game average to rank 148th in the nation in kill average. The outside hitter was third among the Anteater leaders with 20 service aces and 259 digs and added 38 total blocks. Kellerman earned Big West Player of the Week honors and concludes her collegiate career with three weekly awards, including a National Player of the Week nod from CVU.com in 2006. Kellerman sits second in the UCI record books with 4,612 career attack attempts, third in kills with 1,584 and sixth with 115 aces. She holds two spots in the season records in attempts at No. 3 (1,435) and No. 6 (1,268), set in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
