Five Players Honored on ACWPC All-Academic Team
IRVINE, Calif. --- The 2011 women's water polo squad enjoyed a fantastic season, and the honors continue to come in as five members from the squad were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team.
Seniors Cortney Collyer (Santa Barbara / Santa Barbara HS) and Lauren Davis (Downey / Downey HS) were in the outstanding category (GPA of 3.71 and above).
Junior Katie Croghan (Yorba Linda / Rosary HS) and sophomore Layne Kipp (Fresno / Edison HS) were in the superior category (GPA from 3.41 to 3.70).
Senior Caitlin Haskell (Fresno / Buchanan HS) was in the excellent category (GPA from 3.20 to 3.40).
For Collyer, it was her fourth honor, while Davis has made the team for the third time. Croghan, Kipp, and Haskell each made it for the first time.
The class makes 21 Anteaters that have been named to the All-Academic Team since the program's inception in 2001.
