No. 11 `Eaters Go 1-1 on Day One of UC Irvine Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. – The No. 11 UC Irvine women’s water polo team (7-4) went 1-1 on the opening day of the UC Irvine Invitational Saturday at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
UCI lost 11-7 to Hawaii in the opening round before defeating UC Davis 9-8 in their second match of the day.
Juniors Caitlin Haskell (Fresno/Buchanan HS) and Cortney Collyer (Santa Barbara HS) each had four goals on the day for the ‘Eaters leading the team. Sophomore keeper Morgan Vickers (Newport Harbor HS) had eight saves in UCI’s win against UC Davis.
UCI will face Loyola Marymount at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at Corona del Mar High School in the consolation semifinals of the UC Irvine Invitational.
