STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 13 UC Irvine women’s water polo team (7-8) lost 10-4 to No. 2 Stanford Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Avery Aquatic Center.

The Cardinal built a 7-0 lead at the half and held on throughout the second half on their way to the 10-4 victory.

Senior Erin Kiene (Fresno/Clovis West HS), senior Kat Plummer (Thousand Oaks HS), junior Cortney Collyer (Santa Barbara HS) and freshman Kelsey Klatt (Fresno/Sunnyside HS) each had one goal for the ‘Eaters.

Junior keeper Lauren Davis (Downey HS) had five saves for the ‘Eaters. 

UCI will travel down to San Jose Sunday to face No. 7 San Jose State in non-conference play at 12:00 p.m. at the SJSU Aquatics Center.
