HONOLULU, Hawaii - The No. 8 UC Irvine women's water polo team (13-8, 4-5) lost 13-9 to No. 4 Hawaii in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play at Duke Kahanamoko Aquatic Center Friday.

The Rainbow Wahine used a five goal second period to pull away from the Anteaters to take a 9-4 lead at the half. UCI outscored Hawaii 5-4 in the second half, but it would not be enough to overcome the five goal deficit.

Senior Jessica Lewis and junior Julia Fancher each had two goals to lead the `Eaters. Kelly Mason led all scorers with four goals for the Rainbow Wahine. Senior keeper Lauren Machanis had seven saves for UCI.

UCI returns to action Saturday, April 12th as they go on the road to take on San Jose State in MPSF action.
