No. 10 Arizona State Downs No. 9 ‘Eaters 13-3

IRVINE, Calif.  – The UC Irvine women’s water polo team (1-1) lost 13-3 to No. 10 Arizona State Saturday evening in match No. 5 of the UC Irvine Mini Tournament at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

Annabelle Carter led all scorers with six goals for the Sun Devils as they went 3-0 at the UCI Mini Tournament. Senior Erin Kiene (Fresno/Clovis West HS), sophomore Kari Lauterbach (Oakhurst/Yosemite HS) and freshman Kelsey Klatt (Fresno/Sunnyside HS) each scored goals for the Anteaters.

Sophomore keeper Morgan Vickers (Newport Harbor HS) had five saves for UCI. Keeper Dana Harvey had 14 saves for ASU.

The ‘Eaters will next travel to La Jolla to play in the Triton Invitational Saturday, February 6^th and Sunday, February 7^th. UCI opens the tournament at 10:40 a.m. Saturday against California Baptist.

No. 9 Anteaters Beat CSU Bakersfield 17-11

IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 9 UC Irvine women's water polo team (1-0) defeated CSU Bakersfield 17-11 Saturday afternoon in match No. 2 of the UC Irvine Mini Tournament at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

Junior Caitlin Haskell (Fresno/Buchanan HS) had a career high six goals to lead the ‘Eaters to a 17-11 victory over the Roadrunners in the opening match of the season for UCI.
