UC Irvine Invitational Championship Round Results

Feb. 28, 2010

IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine Invitational took place Saturday and Sunday at Anteater Aquatics Complex and Corona del Mar High School. These are the results from the final round of play Sunday afternoon.

USC won the fourth annual UC Irvine Invitational with a 10-6 victory over defending champion Stanford in the championship match. This is the first time that USC has won the UC Irvine Invitational title. Stanford has played in the championship match all four years and has two tournament titles.

The 3rd place match between UCLA and California, that UCLA won 7-6 in the sixth sudden death overtime period, is currently assumed to be the longest match in NCAA women's water polo history. KK Clark scored the game-winner with 1:07 remaining in the eighth (sixth sudden death) overtime period.
