UC Irvine Women's Team Finishes 4th in Asics/UCI Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine women's cross country team placed fourth in the Asics/UCI Invitational at the Anteater Recreation Center Field Saturday morning.
Cal Poly won the title with 42 points, Azusa Pacific was second with 80, Cal State San Marcos third with 107 and UCI fourth with 112 in the 10-team field.
Kayleigh Tyerman of Cal Poly was the individual champion with a time of 17:13.0 over the 5,000-meter course.
UCI freshman Colleen Lillig placed 14th in the 122-runner field in 18:11.0, junior Katherine Nielsen was 24th (18:29.9) and senior Shelby Pock 25th (18:31.9).
Junior Melissa Mead finished 29th in 18:37.6, sophomore Maggie Newton-Neal was 35th (18:49.1), sophomore Carlotta Pham 44th (19:01.9) and sophomore Chloe Fata 55th (19:17.5) to complete the Anteaters' top seven runners.
